The Vail Valley Millennium Society

Welcome to The Millennium Society Online —

The Millennium Society at a glance…

  • The Millennium Society is a likeminded group of (relatively) young Vail Valley professionals who banded together to socialize and philanthropize. We realize our days of skiing hard and partying harder are slowly fading, but we don’t think that means ski-town life as we know it is over. The Millennium Society is a way to keep having fun but at the same time increasingly give back to this great community.
  • We raise funds through membership dues and special events, which have included house parties, ski days, swanky mountain lunches, and our signature event, an annual fall concert at the Vilar Center for the Performing Arts.
  • Above all, we are about having a good time while promoting philanthropic ideals among Vail’s “generation next”

Millennium Society announces partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Eagle and Lake Counties

  • The Millennium Society kicks off its fifth year by announcing a new giving partner, Habitat for Humanity of Eagle and Lake Counties.

The Millennium Society is a likeminded group of Vail (and beyond) residents who banded together to socialize and philanthropize, and in a short amount of time has given thousands of dollars to local programs within local non-profit organizations such as the Steadman Hawkins Research Foundation, the Youth Foundation, the Literacy Project, the Bright Future Foundation and Small Champions. MS raises funds through membership dues and special events, which have included house parties, ski days, swanky mountain lunches, a Girls Night In of spa pampering, and its signature event, an annual fall concert.

“As we continue to grow our membership, we remain committed to giving to local organizations that nurture youth and education, enhance quality of life, and promote sustainable communities,” according to Kristin Kenney Williams, who founded Millennium Society with fellow Vail resident, Jill Landman Alfond.

Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The Eagle & Lake County affiliate of Habitat is currently constructing homes at Fox Hollow in Edwards, Colo. Members of Millennium Society will be on site July 24 for a build day.

“We are thrilled with the fundraising and awareness that Millennium Society has brought to such outstanding local non-profits,” said Alfond. “Partnering with Habitat for Humanity is a perfect representation of our membership’s values.”

To sign up for the build day or to join the Millennium Society, e-mail Williams at kwilliams@vailresorts.com or Alfond at jill@themillenniumsociety.org.

Goodbye winter, HELLO SUMMER!

With or without the weather's help, the Millennium Society will be ready to celebrate summer, sun, decks, pools and everything else we love on June 18 and we want you there with us.

Please join us for our annual members party -- and PLEASE bring your philanthropic friends--the more the merrier--let's share the mission of the Millennium Society--that fun and philanthropy are not mutually exclusive.

We would love to see your (sunscreened) faces for a fabulous and fun-filled deck party--great summer cocktails and yummy treats.

Cost is $20 per person -- and we ask pretty please that you bring your 2009 dues to the party. Pretty please! (we also have the option of monthly or quarterly billing now -- spread the love the whole year through!)

We have lots of changes coming up for 09 and we are excited to share them with you. Hope to see you Thursday, June 18.
